My favorite thing about Wayne State College is the opportunities and the people. We have a lot of groups on campus and organizations for students that cater to a specific group of students, so what I mean by that is we have an LGBTQ group, we have a Students of Color group, we have Latinas United, but what's really cool about all those groups is that they're very open and welcoming and they support anybody that's willing to be a part of that group and share their message, and that's kind of a cool thing that we have here. You may not agree with a message that someone is sending here, but we're all in this together at the end of the day, and we want to make sure that students feel connected in some way, that way they're successful here. So, I am the president of our Student Senate, which is our student government. I'm also the president of Pride, which is our LGBTQ Alliance group on campus. I'm the president of CLAWS, which is a civic leadership group that kind of bridges the gap between our campus community and our Wayne community.

It really helps me refine my leadership and communication skills. I have aspirations to be a lawyer, so you do a lot of communicating, a lot of writing, and so being able to practice those skills every day while I'm here in college is definitely going to set me up well for the future and prepare me to continue to do so. So I think when I look back at my time here at Wayne State, I want to look back and say that I fought for everyone that I could that needed to have a voice, because the people here, they pushed me to be the best that I can be. They picked me up when I was going down a wrong path or didn't know what I wanted to do, or was going through something, because here we want to make sure that you're a part of the family regardless, and families are always there for each other, and that's definitely something that I'm going to miss here about Wayne State.
